Disaster Recover Center open seven days a week
The Disaster Recovery Center is located at the Lincoln Center, 608 Oakland Ave., and is open from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., seven days a week, until further notice. Residents are encouraged to stop by as soon as they are able, center officials said.
Since the flooding in February was declared as an emergency Feb. 21, Elkhart County Emergency Management requested all residents, businesses, schools, etc. contact its office to report any and all flood-related damage. Later, a one-stop shop was set up for immediate assistance at the Elkhart County Health Depart Lincoln Center.
The Disaster Recovery Center has been set up, with FEMA, to help residents with long-term issues related to the flood. Those who stopped by the one-stop shop earlier this year are invited to also stop by the Disaster Recovery Center, specifically to meet and register with FEMA, but also Small Business Administration, mitigation, and the Elkhart County Long Term Recovery Task Force 2018.
Those who did not stop by the one-stop shop earlier and received damage from the flood are also invited to stop by the Disaster Recovery Center.
For more information, call Elkhart County Emergency Management Agency at 574-891-2238.
