Two injured after possible boiler explosion

An explosion at Eagle Railcar Services on Washington’s west side kept first responders busy on Wednesday morning.

A mass casualty call was made to 1723 W. Walnut St. after what was thought to be a boiler explosion at Eagle Railcar at approximately 9:28 a.m. However, after emergency personnel arrived, the mass casualty call was canceled at approximately 9:35 a.m.

Two people were reported injured and taken by Southwest Medical Services to Daviess Community Hospital.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Washington Police Department and Washington Fire Department were still on scene and more information will be provided as updates come in.
